Toyota Korea officially launched the new all-wheel drive model "2026 Prius HEV AWD XLE" on Sept. 8, announcing that it will be available for sale at Toyota's official dealerships nationwide. With this launch, the Prius HEV lineup expands from two existing models to three.
The Prius, which means "pioneer" in Latin, debuted in 1997 as the world's first mass-produced hybrid vehicle, establishing itself as synonymous with eco-friendly cars while pioneering the hybrid market. Toyota Korea previously introduced the fifth-generation Prius in Korea in 2023 under the concept "HYBRID REBORN," and this AWD specification offers an upgraded driving experience by enhancing efficiency and stability.
The HEV AWD model is equipped with Toyota's unique E-Four electronic all-wheel drive system, which adds an electric motor to the rear axle. This configuration implements AWD functionality without a separate propeller shaft, achieving benefits such as increased rear seat space, reduced noise, and vehicle weight reduction, and has achieved a total system output of 199 ps and a government-certified combined fuel efficiency of 20.0 km/L through a rear motor with an output of 30 kW (41 ps).
Additionally, the electric motor, controlled by electrical signals, enhances energy efficiency based on high regenerative braking performance and provides both increased output and driving stability. The AWD operating status can be checked in real-time via the MID (Multi Information Display) in the instrument panel, increasing driver convenience.
To reduce customer burdens and suggest various purchasing methods, Toyota Korea operates a residual value guaranteed financing program called "Amazing Switch." This program allows customers who meet the conditions set at the time of contract to receive a benefit of exemption from a deposit equivalent to 10% of the vehicle price when replacing the vehicle with a new car after sale, ensuring a maximum of 65% of the used car value three years later.
Specifically, in the case of the "2026 Prius HEV AWD XLE model" (based on a vehicle price of 45.3 million won), a basic residual value of 24.91 million won (about 55%) is guaranteed, and a value of up to 65% is guaranteed when reselling and repurchasing through Toyota Financial. The standard rate is 2.0% with a down payment rate of 30%, and the monthly installment is approximately 110,000 won, significantly reducing the barriers to purchasing.
In addition, to celebrate the launch of the "2026 Prius HEV AWD," an online test drive event will be held from Sept. 8 to 30. Customers can apply for test drives of the Prius HEV and PHEV lineups through the official Toyota Korea website, and various prizes will be offered through a lottery to customers who complete the actual test drive, including the Balmuda The Pure air purifier and Hermès body hair special set.

The suggested retail price for the "2026 Prius HEV AWD XLE" is 45.3 million won (based on a special consumption tax of 3.5%).
