KT announced on the 6th that it will temporarily reduce the payment limit for gift certificate sales due to unauthorized small payment incidents occurring regardless of the individual's intention.
On the same day, KT revealed this through a customer notice on its website, stating that it will negotiate with mobile payment service providers to temporarily reduce the payment limit for gift certificate sales and enhance the detection of irregular payment attempts to prevent additional payment damages.
Additionally, KT plans to identify unusual transactions among subscribers who used small payments in areas where unauthorized payment damage occurred and will reach out to them individually for consultation. KT added, "We will cooperate actively with investigative agencies to quickly identify the causes, establish preventive measures, and do our best to minimize damages."
