Chung Ki-sun, vice chairman of HD Hyundai, visited the shipyard site with key executives to conduct a safety inspection and held a meeting with safety management officials.
On the 4th, according to HD Hyundai, Vice Chairman Chung visited the HD Hyundai Samho shipyard site in Yeongam, Jeollanam-do, where he examined major equipment and high-risk work areas alongside President Kim Jae-eul of HD Hyundai Samho.
Vice Chairman Chung's visit to HD Hyundai Samho was part of a site safety inspection conducted by HD Hyundai for all its subsidiaries that day. Following the site inspection, Vice Chairman Chung also held a meeting with the safety team leaders.
In the meeting, he noted, "Safety is a value that cannot be exchanged for anything," and said, "The company will prioritize the lives of employees in any situation."
He also urged the executives, "The decisions and actions of leaders have a significant impact on establishing a safety culture," and asked them to continue management focused on the field until serious accidents are reduced to 'zero' across all business sites.
These site safety inspections are part of the safety management that HD Hyundai conducts under the slogan "Safety for Everyone." HD Hyundai plans to invest approximately 3.5 trillion won in safety budgets over the next five years until 2030 for building safety systems, maintaining and expanding safety facilities and equipment, and supporting partner companies' safety.
Additionally, it was decided to expand the implementation of the safety and health management system known as 'The Safe Care,' introduced at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries in August, to all subsidiaries. The Safe Care system ensures that if any of the nine absolute accident rules are violated, measures equivalent to serious accidents will be implemented regardless of whether an actual accident occurs.
