GS Caltex (CEO Heo Se-hong) announced on the 4th that it urgently provided 200,000 bottles of 500ml water for residents of Gangneung, Gangwon Province, who are struggling due to severe drought.
GS Caltex plans to distribute water to residents visiting GS Caltex gas stations and LPG charging stations in Gangneung, while also supplying it to vulnerable groups and other residents in accordance with the disaster recovery plan of the Gangneung City Hall.
GS Caltex Executive Jeo Gwang-ok said, "We urgently provided water to help alleviate the inconveniences and difficulties faced by the residents of Gangneung due to drought," and added, "GS Caltex will continue to do its best to be a corporation that supports the community and provides strength to the citizens."
Previously, GS Caltex supported relief funds for victims of wildfires in Gyeongbuk and Gangwon in 2022, for the Gangneung wildfire damage in 2023, and for Uiseong and Andong wildfire recovery in 2025, while also participating in recovery efforts for flood damage across the nation, including in Chungcheong, Jeonnam, and Gyeongbuk in 2023 and 2025, thereby practicing its social responsibility as a corporation.
