Tata Daewoo Mobility Corporation (President Kim Tae-sung) has introduced two new electric recycling collection vehicles based on the mid-sized electric truck "GIXEN." The newly unveiled models are the "7㎥ class compressed electric recycling collection vehicle" and the "14㎥ class dump-type electric recycling collection vehicle," which, along with the "4㎥ electric road sweeper" launched in July, have established a total lineup of three electric environmental vehicles, accelerating efforts to penetrate the domestic electric environmental vehicle market.
The mid-sized electric truck "GIXEN," which serves as the foundation for the electric environmental vehicles, has secured both performance and efficiency through a high-efficiency ZF electric motor, LFP and NCM battery systems, and ultra-fast charging technology. It can be equipped with either a 150 kWh LFP or a 152 kWh NCM battery and can be charged from 20% to 80% in about 60 minutes with a rapid charging system of 100 kW. It is also characterized by the installation of a dedicated high-voltage port for stable operation of various specialized equipment.
In the development of these new vehicles, Tata Daewoo Mobility collaborated with AM Special Vehicle, a specialized company in environmental specialty vehicles. Both models apply a 50 kW e-PTO (electric power take-off) that directly drives the specialized systems using the vehicle's high-voltage battery power. The modularized e-PTO significantly increases operational efficiency by providing strong and stable power.
The 7㎥ class compressed recycling truck is based on a GVW 13-ton class GIXEN electric chassis truck and adopts an automatic loading method. When the operator loads recyclables into the collection device at the rear of the vehicle, the collected recyclables are automatically transported to the loading compartment and compressed under a specific pressure. An automated loading and unloading system and safety devices for specialized vehicles have been implemented to enhance operational efficiency, ensuring both convenience and safety for the operators.
The 14㎥ class dump-type recycling collection vehicle is based on a GVW 9-ton class electric chassis truck, boasting a large loading space. It adopts a double-cylinder dumping system that enables stable unloading of materials, and various features have been implemented to enhance operator convenience, including an automatic opening and closing system for the upper door and an optional rear door configuration.
Tata Daewoo Mobility plans to gradually expand its electric specialty vehicle lineup through close cooperation with AM Special Vehicle, starting with the launch of these electric recycling trucks, to include electric collection vehicles for household waste and food waste. The company aims to set a new standard that contributes to creating a clean living environment and achieving resource recycling, going beyond simple waste collection.
