The Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises and Startups announced on the 3rd that it will hold the '2025 Korea Global Sourcing Week' event in conjunction with the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) and the Korea SMEs & Startups Distribution & Marketing Agency at KINTEX 2 Exhibition Center in Ilsan for two days from the 4th to the 5th.
The Korea Global Sourcing Week is an event designed for corporations from around the world to meet and seek collaboration opportunities with our small and medium enterprises and to widely promote our companies' excellent products globally. It integrated the previous 'Overseas Export Consultation Meeting' and 'Domestic Sales Consultation Meeting' in 2022. Over the past three years, approximately 600 corporations and around 4,000 small and medium enterprises participated, resulting in about $50 million (approximately 6.97 billion won) in new contracts.
This year, a total of 165 buyers, including 110 overseas buyers, and 1,200 small and medium enterprises will participate both online and offline for business consultations. Additionally, representative products from more than 100 corporations producing excellent products in sectors such as beauty, fashion, food, and life, which are experiencing growing global demand, will be showcased. Notably, products identified as eco-friendly will be selected for a separate Eco-friendly Zone, and experiential events will be held utilizing high-tech technology, including artificial intelligence (AI) skin diagnostics and augmented reality (AR) fittings.
Furthermore, one-on-one customized consultations regarding government support projects related to small and medium enterprises' market development, such as export assistance programs and domestic marketing support programs, will be provided. Seminars introducing online export strategies as well as successful cases utilizing AI in distribution and marketing will also be prepared.
