Actor Kang Ha-neul found freedom in tranquility. He has been selected as the protagonist of the first unit of the Jeep's 'Fathom Blue' edition.
The adventure and freedom icon, Jeep (Jeep®), will unveil the third special color edition, 'Fathom Blue Edition (Fathom Blue)', which will complete the spectrum of freedom this summer.
Fathom Blue serves as the final puzzle to complete Jeep's 'Color My Freedom' campaign this summer and conveys the journey of finding one's own freedom in tranquility with the message 'Quiet Freedom', following the 'Mojito' edition symbolizing freshness in the city and the 'Juice' edition expressing hot energy under the sun.
'Fathom' is a unit used to measure water depth and means 'to gauge'; it embodies a deep blue color reminiscent of a calm and profound sea. It symbolizes 'my freedom' that moves forward quietly and steadily, suggesting a free lifestyle that Jeep customers can enjoy at their own pace and in their own manner.
The Fathom Blue edition, limited to people in their 30s, will be available in 20 Wrangler units and 10 Gladiator units, featuring the Mopar genuine accessory 'Sunrider Flip Top' as standard on all models. This product is a waterproof fabric soft top that replaces the hardtop panel on the first-row ceiling, allowing for easy open-air enjoyment anywhere with simple operation, enabling a life as free and changeable as the ocean.
In particular, actor Kang Ha-neul, who is a Jeep owner and recently began his activities as a Jeep ambassador, became the first customer of the Fathom Blue edition. He is showcasing his genuine daily life and the freedom conveyed by Jeep through the brand video series 'SKY meets JEEP', noting that the Fathom Blue color, which symbolizes quiet and deep freedom, resembles his inner self closely, prompting him to choose this edition.
The Wrangler Fathom Blue edition is based on the Wrangler Sahara hardtop model. It delivers powerful driving performance with a 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder gasoline turbo engine that produces a maximum output of 272 horsepower and a peak torque of 40.8 kg·m, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, while it also has a Select-Track full-time 4WD system and Select-Speed Control features tailored for off-road performance. The price is 82.9 million won.
The Gladiator Fathom Blue edition is equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar engine and an 8-speed automatic transmission, producing a maximum output of 284 horsepower, peak torque of 35.4 kg·m, and a towing capacity of 2,721 kg, delivering powerful performance. It features True-Lock electronic differential locking and an electronic front sway bar, providing excellent off-road capabilities in extreme nature, with a price of 87.1 million won.
Bangsil, head of Stellantis Korea, noted, 'I think Fathom Blue is the most perfect finishing touch for the Wrangler color edition, which expresses various forms of freedom in urban and natural settings this summer,' and stated, 'The encounter between actor Kang Ha-neul and Fathom Blue symbolizes the true 'Jeep life' for enjoying freedom in one's own way in this era.'
Last month, Jeep launched two emotional brand campaign videos featuring Kang Ha-neul's genuine daily life and the freedom conveyed by the Wrangler, marking the start of collaborative marketing activities with him. The earlier two videos featured the Mojito and Juice editions as protagonists, while the last Fathom Blue edition appears in the third video 'Sky, Sea, and Jeep' along with a 70-second compilation video containing all editions released on that day.
