Hyundai Motor will visit domestic institutional investors and the 'Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America' (HMGMA) in Georgia, USA, as well as the headquarters of Boston Dynamics in Boston, Massachusetts.
According to the industry on the 2nd, Hyundai Motor will hold an IR event in the U.S. in mid-October. They plan to invite analysts to a CEO investor day in New York and tour both the Metaplant and the Boston Dynamics headquarters.
The CEO investor day is an event where Hyundai Motor Group announces the company's management strategy, future plans, and business outlook to shareholders, institutional investors, and analysts since 2019. Until now, it has been held domestically, but this time it will take place in the U.S.
The Metaplant, which institutional investors will visit, is Hyundai Motor's key production base in the U.S. that was completed in March this year and is producing the Ioniq 5, Ioniq 9, and others. The current annual production capacity is about 300,000 units, and this is expected to expand to 500,000 units in the future.
Boston Dynamics is a key subsidiary leading Hyundai Motor Group's focus on the robotics business. Recently, Hyundai Motor announced additional investment plans in the U.S. and decided to establish a new robot factory with an annual capacity of 30,000 units, which will produce core robots from Boston Dynamics.
The largest shareholder of Boston Dynamics is Hyundai Motor's U.S. investment firm HMG Global, holding 54.72% equity. Chairman Chung Eui-sun (21.89%) and Hyundai GLOVIS (10.94%) are also major shareholders.
Hyundai Motor plans to publicize the specific schedule related to the event as soon as it is confirmed.
