Mercedes-Benz Korea has added a gasoline model to the standard wheelbase S-Class. The model name is Mercedes-Benz S 450 4MATIC Standard Wheelbase. Previously, the standard wheelbase S-Class only offered the S 350 d 4MATIC, which is the diesel model.
The new standard wheelbase trim of the flagship sedan 'S-Class,' the Mercedes-Benz S 450 4MATIC, will start sales and customer deliveries from September.
The S-Class embodies the philosophy and technology of Mercedes-Benz. Based on customer trust in the vehicle, it surpassed cumulative sales of 100,000 units after introducing the 4th generation model domestically in 2003 and advancing to the current 7th generation model.
The newly launched S 450 4MATIC Standard Wheelbase inherits the luxurious design, comfortable ride, and outstanding safety that are characteristic of the S-Class. It also adds sporty details, competitive pricing, and a balanced wheelbase length suitable for self-driving, providing driving convenience.
For the 2025 model year, Mercedes-Benz Korea offers the S 350 d 4MATIC for the standard wheelbase S-Class and the S 450 4MATIC, S 500 4MATIC, and S 580 4MATIC for the long wheelbase S-Class.
The vehicle features a classic sedan form with perfect proportions characteristic of the S-Class, applying AMG line design elements to complete a sportier feel. The exterior includes an AMG front apron with an A-wing design at the front, chrome-treated air intakes, and a splitter, while the rear is equipped with an AMG rear apron with chrome trim and a rear diffuser. The 20-inch AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels also catch the eye.
The interior captivates with a multifunctional sport steering wheel wrapped in black nappa leather and luxurious nappa leather seats, while AMG floor mats are applied to the interior floor to allow a sense of AMG even inside the vehicle. Additionally, the 3D instrument panel enables the driver to view essential information at a glance while driving, providing a safer driving environment.
The vehicle combines a 6-cylinder inline gasoline engine with a 9-speed automatic transmission to deliver a maximum output of 381 horsepower (ps) and peak torque of 51 kgf·m. The 2nd generation mild hybrid system additionally provides a maximum output of 17 kW to the internal combustion engine. The standard air suspension offers optimal ride comfort in any road condition, and the rear-axle steering, which reaches a maximum steering angle of 4.5°, guarantees more precise and agile driving.
The advanced safety and convenience features of the S 450 4MATIC reflect the preferences of domestic S-Class customers. It comes equipped with the cutting-edge driving assistance system 'Driving Assistance Package' as standard, and a parking package that includes a 360-degree camera, MBUX augmented reality navigation, front seat ventilation and heating, a panoramic sunroof, and a Burmester® 3D surround sound system, among other features.
Park Yang-won, executive director of the product strategy planning team at Mercedes-Benz Korea, noted, 'This S 450 4MATIC Standard Wheelbase model is optimized for customers seeking the joy of driving with its sporty design and driving convenience based on the unique comfort and quality of the S-Class.' He added, 'We feel it is significant to present the S-Class that aligns with diverse lifestyles to domestic customers.'
The vehicle is priced at 159.6 million won (including VAT and reflecting the reduction of the individual consumption tax).
