Encar (CEO Kim Sang-beom) has introduced an "AI chatbot" that applies dynamic prompt generation technology within its purchasing service "Encar Trust," making it the first of its kind in Korea.
Typically, the AI chatbots widely adopted by corporations are developed using the Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) method. The RAG method is a technology that generates responses by searching databases and using that information as a basis, which is excellent for answering standard operational policies or simple customer inquiries but has limitations in reflecting real-time information.
Due to the nature of used cars, prices may fluctuate according to market conditions, or transactions may occur in real-time, making it impossible to provide accurate inquiries for individual listings using the existing RAG method.
Encar developed the AI chatbot using a "dynamic prompt generation" approach that can respond properly to the same questions based on the situation and context. This service, developed and commercialized by the Encar AI team in just six months, is an AI chatbot that enables one-on-one customized consultations for each listing based on dynamic prompt generation.
By applying Google's latest AI model, Gemini, it analyzes and combines detailed data for about 40,000 individual "Encar Trust" vehicles in real-time, providing tailored responses for each listing.
The "AI chatbot" is accessible to any customer inquiring about "Encar Trust" listings. When users ask questions about the performance, condition, and features of the desired vehicle in natural language, the AI chatbot responds like a used car assistant. For example, if a customer asks, "What is the condition of the tires on this car?" the AI chatbot instantly analyzes the data for that vehicle and provides a reliable response like, "The front tire tread depth is 10mm, which is in good condition."
An Encar representative noted, "The AI chatbot reflected in Encar Trust is a consultation solution completed by combining the big data held by Encar with the latest AI technology," and added, "We will continue to enhance services based on the latest IT technologies like AI to provide innovative automotive transaction experiences."
