The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises met with the new Commissioner Baek Seung-bo to convey issues related to small and medium enterprises, including the public procurement price linkage system.
KBIZ noted on the 28th that the new Commissioner Baek visited KBIZ.
KBIZ has been cooperating since 2019 after signing a business agreement with the Procurement Service to activate cooperatives and strengthen support for small businesses and small merchants, support public market access for start-ups and venture companies, assist export companies in entering overseas procurement markets, regularize policy meetings, and enhance the quality of procurement items.
Kim Ki-moon, president of KBIZ, said, "I appreciate Commissioner Baek visiting KBIZ and showing commitment to support small and medium enterprises," and added, "The Procurement Service is the most important government department for small and medium enterprises, which account for 74% of participating companies in public procurement and 64% of the delivery amount."
He continued, "There have been several requests, but I hope you will actively consider improving the public procurement price linkage system and regulations related to unfair sanctions, which are the biggest issues for small and medium enterprises," and added, "I hope you listen to the voices of small and medium enterprises and frequently communicate with the federation to arrange a substantive meeting soon."
The public procurement price linkage system is a system that raises the delivery price when the raw material cost increases for small and medium enterprises supplying goods to public institutions. The small and medium enterprise sector believes that the introduction of this system is necessary to mitigate the damage to small and medium enterprises during inflation.
The new Commissioner Baek Seung-bo, born in 1971, graduated from Korea University with a degree in economics and entered public service after passing the 39th National Public Service Examination. He has served as director of the Facilities Division of the Procurement Service, director of the New Technology Service Department, and head of the Seoul Regional Procurement Service.
