Renault Korea (CEO Stephan Debleze) has finalized the domestic sales price and electric vehicle subsidies for its pure electric vehicle 'Scenic E-Tech 100% Electric (hereinafter Scenic E-Tech)' to be unveiled in the domestic market and will start customer deliveries from the 21st.
The Scenic E-Tech can be purchased starting from 40.67 million to 47.16 million won, depending on the electric vehicle subsidies based on the customer's residential area. For consumers residing in Seoul, the Scenic E-Tech can be encountered starting from 46.78 million won.
Beginning on August 21, Renault's pure electric vehicle Scenic E-Tech, which has won the '2024 European Car of the Year', is a model recognized for its marketability in Europe. In the domestic market, 999 units will be imported and sold this year, and they will be gradually released according to the unloading schedule.
Based on the electric vehicle exclusive platform 'AmpR Medium' developed by Renault Group's electric vehicle specialized subsidiary Ampere, the pure electric vehicle Scenic E-Tech features a relatively light body starting from 1,855 kg, equipped with an electric motor with a maximum output of 160 kW (218 ps) and a maximum torque of 300 Nm, showcasing nimble driving performance. Additionally, it has a steering ratio of 12 to 1, the lowest level in the market, and a maximum steering wheel rotation of just 2.34 turns (Lock to Lock), providing agile yet stable handling.
The Scenic E-Tech, equipped with an industry-leading 87 kWh capacity high-performance NCM (nickel, cobalt, manganese) battery from LG Energy Solution, can achieve a maximum range of 460 km under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy certification standards, allowing travel from Seoul to Busan without recharging. When using a 130 kW fast charger, the battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in about 34 minutes. Furthermore, the vehicle adopts 'Smart Cocoon' technology by inserting damping force-enhanced foam between the floor of the vehicle and the battery casing to block external noise and vibrations entering the cabin during driving, providing enhanced cabin quietness.
Additionally, the Scenic E-Tech has the 'Fireman Access' developed in collaboration with the French fire authorities, which allows direct injection of water into the battery, enabling quick response in case of a fire. It is reported that applying the Fireman Access technology to electric vehicles can significantly reduce battery fire suppression time to around 10 minutes. Along with this, the Scenic E-Tech is also equipped with the 'Pyro Switch' technology that automatically cuts off high-voltage battery electricity supply in the event of an accident where airbag deployment occurs, ensuring higher fire safety.
The spacious interior, based on a flat floor design, adds to the appeal of the Scenic E-Tech. Notably, the second-row seats provide a best-in-class knee space of 278 mm and headroom of 884 mm, offering interior space worthy of a family SUV. Moreover, it boasts an impressive trunk capacity that can be expanded from 545 liters to a maximum of 1,670 liters, showcasing excellent space utilization. In addition, it features a 'Solarbay® Panoramic Sunroof' with luxury brand specifications, allowing the transparency level to be adjusted according to the passengers' preferences, providing a higher level of riding experience.
The exterior design reflecting the latest trends also enhances the Scenic E-Tech's charm. With a low beltline and smooth, elegant silhouette, it adds a modern sensibility, intertwining aerodynamic performance details throughout the design naturally. In particular, the 20-inch 'Oracle' wheels beautifully express Renault's unique diamond pattern while minimizing air resistance, contributing to improved vehicle efficiency.
