On the 21st, the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) announced that it visited the small and medium-sized enterprise CMTX, located in Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province, through its onsite communication program 'Visiting KOSME,' and held the 'AI Transformation Promotion Forum for North Gyeongsang Corporations.'
This event was organized to spread excellent success stories of small and medium-sized enterprises in North Gyeongsang Province and to support manufacturing corporations in securing future growth engines through AI transformation.
KOSME first visited the semiconductor core parts manufacturing corporation CMTX and examined the site. The company is recognized for its exceptional technological prowess and quality competitiveness in the area of essential silicone and ceramic parts for semiconductor etching processes. Based on this, it is expanding its global presence in the memory and foundry semiconductor materials and parts markets.
In particular, starting from the youth-exclusive startup fund established by KOSME in 2013, CMTX has been on a growth trajectory, receiving various linked supports, including export vouchers and the Tomorrow Saving Contribution personnel support project. As a result, it achieved remarkable accomplishments, surpassing 100 billion won in revenue last year, just 11 years after its founding, and is currently pursuing a listing on the KOSDAQ in the second half of 2025.
Following the corporate visit, KOSME held the 'AI Transformation Promotion Forum for North Gyeongsang Corporations' at Hotel Geumo Mountain. Attendees included Yang Geum-hee, Vice Governor of Economic Affairs of North Gyeongsang Province, Lee Geon-hyuk, Vice President of LIG Nex1, and representatives from over 200 corporations engaged in key industries in North Gyeongsang Province.
The forum was conducted with a focus on corporations located in North Gyeongsang Province, covering ▲ lectures on understanding and utilizing AI for the manufacturing sector ▲ sharing successful cases of AI introduction centered on manufacturing sites ▲ and information on AI transformation support systems from KOSME and North Gyeongsang Province.
Kang Seok-jin, chairman of KOSME, stated, 'We will spare no effort in providing policy support so that small and medium-sized enterprises can more effectively integrate digital technologies in an environment where AI transformation is accelerating in the manufacturing sector,' and added, 'We will faithfully serve as a growth ladder to help promising small and medium-sized enterprises leap to become mid-sized firms.'
