Renault Korea has confirmed the domestic selling price of its pure electric sports utility vehicle (SUV) "Scenic E-Tech 100% Electric" (Scenic). With the application of electric vehicle purchase subsidies, it can be purchased from a minimum of 40.67 million won, depending on the region.
Renault Korea noted on the 21st that it has finalized the Scenic's selling price and electric vehicle purchase subsidies and will begin customer deliveries. Depending on the regional electric vehicle purchase subsidies, it can be purchased from 40.67 million to 47.16 million won. In the case of Seoul, it starts at 46.78 million won.
The Scenic is a model that has already gained recognition overseas for its marketability, having won the "2024 European Car of the Year" award. In the domestic market, 999 units will be limitedly imported and sold this year, and they are scheduled to be released sequentially according to the unloading schedule.
The vehicle is equipped with an LG Energy Solution NCM (nickel, cobalt, manganese) battery, allowing for a maximum driving range of 460 km. It can be charged from 20% to 80% in just 34 minutes using a 130 kW fast charger. The smart cocoon technology is applied, which inserts damping force-enhancing foam between the vehicle's floor and the battery casing to block external noise and vibrations from entering the cabin during driving.
The "Fireman Access" developed in collaboration with French fire authorities allows water to be directly injected into the battery, enabling quick response even in the event of a fire. The "Pyro Switch" technology, which automatically cuts off the high-voltage battery power supply in the event of an accident when airbags deploy, has also been applied to enhance fire safety.
The spacious interior space, based on a flat floor design, is also cited as an advantage. The second-row seats provide the largest knee space in its class at 278 mm and headroom of 884 mm. The trunk capacity is 545 liters (L) and can be expanded up to 1,670 liters.
