The Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) announced on the 18th that it signed a startup support agreement with the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Chicago on the 12th.
The Polsky Center at the University of Chicago is a world-class deep tech startup incubation institution that has produced over 600 innovative corporations and attracted more than $10 billion (approximately 14 trillion won) in investments. It operates deep tech startup incubation programs specialized in future core areas such as quantum technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and cleantech by connecting professors, corporations, students, and local communities.
This agreement was established to promote the entry of Korean startups into the U.S. market based on the 2022 business agreement between KOSME and the University of Chicago for the creation of a global startup ecosystem. It supports the global entry and growth of startups through deep tech incubation, expert networks, and initial establishment support in the local market.
KOSME's Director of Human Resources, Jo Han-kyu, said, "This agreement is an important opportunity for Korean startups to directly connect with the world's top deep tech ecosystem," adding, "We will actively expand global partnerships so that startups can grow across borders in the future."
