(deceased) Mrs. Byun Joong-seok, the wife of the late Chung Ju-yung, honorary chairman of Hyundai Group, was commemorated with a 18th anniversary ritual attended by the broader Hyundai family.
According to the industry on the 17th, the broader Hyundai family, including Chung Eui-sun, chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, held the 18th anniversary ritual for Mrs. Byun at the former residence of the late honorary chairman Chung Ju-yung in Cheongun-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the 16th.
This year, those who attended included Chung Mong-joon, chairman of the Asan Foundation; Chung Mong-won, chairman of HL Group; Chung Mong-yoon, chairman of Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance Group; Chung Mong-kyu, chairman of HDC; Chung Mong-ik, chairman of KCC Glass; Chung Mong-hyeok, chairman of Hyundai Corporation; Chung Mong-il, chairman of Hyundai Future Group; and Hyun Jeong-eun, chairman of Hyundai Group.
Also present were President Jung Il-sun of HYUNDAI BNG STEEL; Senior Vice Chairman Jung Gi-sun of HD Hyundai; Chairman Jung Ji-sun of Hyundai Department Store Group; and Vice Chairman Jung Gyo-sun of Hyundai Department Store Group.
The broader Hyundai family gathers on the anniversary dates of honorary chairman Chung and Mrs. Byun, March 20 and August 16. While the anniversary of honorary chairman Chung is on March 21, the ritual is held the day before on the 20th.
In 2019, Chung Mong-koo, honorary chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, transferred ownership of the residence in Cheongun-dong to his son, chairman Chung Eui-sun.
