Toyota Motor Korea announced on the 13th that it donated 60 million won to the 'Anyone Can Be a Dream Tree Orchestra' at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts to expand arts education for children and teenagers from marginalized communities on the 12th.
This sponsorship was carried out at the summer camp held at the Forest Village in Dobong, Seoul, with attendance from Kim Hyung-jun, a director at Toyota Motor Korea, and Shin Dong-jun, Deputy Minister at the Sejong Center, who directly encouraged the orchestra members. An Ho-sang, president of the Sejong Center, expressed gratitude, stating that the warm encouragement and continued support for the Dream Tree Orchestra has always been a great source of strength.
The donated funds will be used for instrument education, summer camp operations, and preparations for the regular concert to be held at the Sejong Center on November 23. Notably, this year, the number of disabled members will be doubled from the previous 10 to 20, allowing more diverse children and teenagers to participate in artistic activities.
Toyota Motor Korea has been supporting for the fourth consecutive year since signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Sejong Center in 2021, and the cumulative donation amount to date has reached approximately 280 million won. Last year, it supported the first regular concert at the Sejong Center's Grand Theater, as well as a performance to encourage the national Paralympic team in collaboration with the KBS Symphony Orchestra, helping both disabled and non-disabled members take the stage together.
Kim Hyung-jun, a director at Toyota Motor Korea, said, "We will continue to support children and teenagers to discover their unique potential and grow through the arts," and added, "We will also consistently engage in various social contribution activities that grow together with the community."
In recognition of its contributions to supporting the 'Anyone Can Be a Dream Tree Orchestra,' Toyota Motor Korea was selected as an 'Outstanding Public-Private Cooperation Institution' by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, receiving an award from the mayor of Seoul last year. Additionally, it continues to support future generations through various social contribution activities such as the 'T-TEP' program for cultivating talent in the automotive field in collaboration with eight universities and five high schools, and the 'Lexus Creative Masters' initiative to support emerging craft artists.
