JYP Entertainment recorded a revenue of 215.8 billion won and an operating profit of 52.9 billion won in the second quarter of this year. The world tours of major artists and global intellectual property (IP) drove the increase in performance.
JYP Entertainment announced on the 13th that its consolidated revenue for the second quarter of this year was 215.8 billion won, with an operating profit of 52.9 billion won. This marks an increase of 125.5% and 466.3%, respectively, compared to the same period last year. Net income for the period was 36.2 billion won, an increase of 2734% from the same period last year.
A JYP official noted, "Revenue significantly increased due to the world tours of major artists and the strengthening of global presence." In particular, the large-scale stadium tours in South America, Japan, and North America by Stray Kids and the world tour by DAY6 had a significant impact. Revenue from performances in the second quarter of this year reached 62 billion won, a 342.3% increase compared to the same period last year.
In addition, the artists' concert merchandise and global IP licensing collaborations also drove the increase in revenue. The merchandise revenue from Stray Kids' world tour, online merchandise from fan meetings, and collaborations with Tamagotchi were popular, with merchandise sales reaching 66.9 billion won, a 355.9% increase from the same period last year.
JYP is set to hold DAY6's 10th anniversary world tour, the release of Stray Kids' full-length album, and NMIXX's solo concert in the second half of this year.
