It has been investigated that the sales and number of visiting customers at small business and self-employed stores increased after the people's livelihood recovery consumption coupons were used.
According to the results of the 'Effectiveness Survey of the People's Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupons' announced by the Korea Federation of Micro Enterprises (KFME) and the National Merchants Association on the 12th, 55.8% of business sites have experienced an increase in sales due to the use of consumption coupons. In particular, 51% of business sites that saw increased sales reported an increase rate of 10% to 30%. By industry, the wholesale sector had the highest rate at 68.6%, followed by the food and beverage industry at 52.5%.
The number of visiting customers also increased. In 51.8% of business sites, the number of visiting customers increased, and among them, 52.1% reported an increase rate of 10% to 30%.
Satisfaction with the policy was also high. Small business owners responded that the overall satisfaction with the people's livelihood recovery consumption coupons policy reached 70.3%. Furthermore, 70.1% agreed on the necessity for the additional implementation of similar policies in the future.
However, 49.8% said that restrictions on usage are needed to focus on alleyway commerce as an improvement measure for the policy. Additionally, 47.4% mentioned that an expansion of coupon amounts is also necessary.
This survey was conducted online over three days from August 5th to 7th, targeting 2,035 general small business owners engaged in general alleyway commerce, traditional markets, retail and wholesale, accommodation, food and beverage, and education services.
