The Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) announced on the 11th that it will begin operating the newly established "Global Expansion Program" for students enrolled in the Youth Startup School.
This program aims to strengthen the global market entry capabilities of youth startups and support the achievement of tangible results based on KOSME's overseas network and customized strategies for each country.
KOSME will hold online orientations starting on the 6th and on the 13th, selecting 100 hopeful companies from the 15th batch of students at the Youth Startup School to conduct tailored training primarily focused on practical experience for about four months.
The main components of the program include ▲ global capability assessment and mentoring ▲ visits to leading companies in local innovative technologies and startup support organizations ▲ global demo days and business meetings, and it will be conducted in collaboration with One Tree Hill Ventures, a local accelerator in Singapore.
Even after the training ends, KOSME plans to continue various follow-up support such as buyer meetings, consultation matching, and participation in local fairs and conferences based on the program results by country and the needs of participating companies.
Jho Han-kyo, an executive director of human resources at the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME), said, "This program is expected to be a starting point for establishing a sustainable global business foundation rather than just a one-time support," and added, "We will actively support promising youth startups to competitively engage in the global market through close exchanges, focusing on the United States and major Southeast Asian countries."
