Audi Korea (CEO Steve Clough) officially launched the premium mid-size SUV "The new Audi Q5 Sportback" in Korea and announced that sales will begin on the 12th.
"The new Audi Q5" is characterized by the application of Audi's diesel model's first high-efficiency mild hybrid plus (MHEV Plus) technology, based on the newly designed dedicated platform, PPC (Premium Platform Combustion) for internal combustion and plug-in hybrid models. With a striking yet sophisticated design, precise driving performance, and a user-centered intuitive interface, it features advanced digital technology embodying Audi's expertise, offering versatility that satisfies both practicality and emotion.
Following the launch of the mid-size SUV model "The new Audi Q5" in July, Audi plans to provide even more options for SUV-preferred customers by introducing the sportback model. The newly launched "The new Audi Q5 Sportback" consists of two trims: the new Audi Q5 Sportback 40 TDI quattro advanced and the new Audi Q5 Sportback 40 TDI quattro S-line, with sportback models based on the TFSI engine to be introduced sequentially.
"The new Audi Q5 Sportback 40 TDI quattro" is equipped with Audi's quattro all-wheel drive system and a 7-speed S tronic automatic transmission, providing excellent stability and instantaneous responsiveness in various driving environments. Its powerful diesel powertrain boasts a maximum output of 204 horsepower and a maximum torque of 40.789 kg.m, combined with a fuel efficiency of 12.8 km/l (urban: 12.4 km/l, highway: 13.2 km/l).
In particular, the high-efficiency mild hybrid plus (MHEV Plus) system, introduced for the first time in Audi's diesel lineup, supports up to 18 kW (based on European standards), enabling smooth and quiet driving without engine intervention while minimizing the unique vibrations of diesel, providing a quiet and comfortable ride.
The sporty silhouette created by the sportback's characteristic sleek roofline, which is 25 mm longer than the existing model, harmonizes with the newly designed 2D logo, exuding a sporty yet luxurious presence. The LED headlights and rear dynamic turn signals equipped with the LED taillights offer high visibility while emphasizing the vehicle's presence. The light signature, consisting of seven front and one rear lights, captures the unique Audi emotion where technology and design harmonize.
Additionally, various options such as sports seats, a panoramic sunroof, high beam assist, headlight washers, side mirror projection lights, welcome ceremonies, and full body paint are provided as standard to offer a more complete premium SUV experience. The storage package, rear seat bench plus, folding rear seats, and trunk partition net also provide a more practical and spacious interior. Notably, the "The new Audi Q5 Sportback 40 TDI quattro S-line" comes standard with a black package, adding a sporty element to its elegant design and providing enthusiasts of the sportback model with more diverse design options.
"The new Audi Q5 Sportback 40 TDI quattro" offers a diverse range of Audi's advanced digital mobility experiences. The advanced trim includes an 11.9-inch virtual cockpit plus and a 14.5-inch MMI touch display, while the S-line trim adds a 10.9-inch passenger display, allowing both the driver and passengers to enjoy an intuitive and immersive digital environment.
In addition, various driver assistance systems, such as front/rear parking assistance systems, park assist, adaptive cruise control, side assist, and Pre Sense 360°, are equipped to support safe and comfortable driving.
In addition to basic specifications for each trim, a total of three option packages allow for customized configurations tailored to the customer's lifestyle. The S-line trim offers an optional "light package" (including matrix LED with front dynamic turn signals, digital OLED taillights, and eight light signatures for front/rear), while the advanced trim offers an optional "tech package" (including head-up display, B&O 3D premium sound system, USB fast charging). Each trim also offers a "brown seat package" (marron brown, black headlining) for customized configurations that suit individual tastes and needs.
