POSCO Group (POSCO Holdings) has entered a state of emergency management, recommending a temporary suspension of the biweekly four-day workweek being implemented at the company and POSCO.
According to the steel industry on the 5th, POSCO Holdings and POSCO recommended a temporary suspension of the work system that allows employees at the director general level and above to take Fridays off biweekly.
This measure was taken in consideration of poor market conditions and a series of safety incidents within the group. It is reported that an atmosphere has formed within POSCO Group encouraging the restraint of evening gatherings and refraining from activities like golf even before the work recommendations.
An official from POSCO Group noted that due to issues related to the attendance system, the recommendations are expected to be implemented starting next week, stating, "Given the serious circumstances, we ask for voluntary participation."
