The Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) announced on the 5th that it has established a 'Generative AI Utilization Business Innovation Class' to nurture practical talent capable of utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) in small and medium-sized enterprises and has been recruiting participants since the 4th.
The training focuses not only on learning how to use AI but also on developing the ability to apply generative AI in practice based on real-world data. In particular, the training will be hands-on to supplement repetitive tasks in the field, such as report automation, tax filing support, and cash flow analysis.
The training program consists of two courses: 'Exploring Generative AI' for understanding and practicing basic application skills of generative AI, and 'Financial Accounting Tasks Transformed by AI' for utilizing AI automation in accounting and tax work. Each will be held in Seoul on Sept. 4 and in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province, on Sept. 9-10.
KOSME plans to expand AI competency enhancement training tailored to various roles, such as planning, human resources, marketing, and quality, starting from 2026, beginning with this course.
KOSME Chairman Kang Seok-jin said, 'AI is a core technology that influences the growth of our industry' and, 'We will do our best to provide various and systematic training programs so that employees of small and medium-sized enterprises can internalize and utilize AI technology in their work.'
Any employee of a small or medium-sized enterprise can apply for the training program through the KOSME website.
