On the 3rd, Hyundai Motor launched the "NEXO Easy Start" program to enable users to seamlessly utilize the hydrogen fuel cell vehicle (FCEV) "The all-new NEXO" (hereinafter referred to as NEXO).
The NEXO Easy Start program consists of a "deferred payment installment plan" featuring low monthly payments and a "hydrogen charging cost support benefit" that covers hydrogen charging expenses for two years.
The deferred payment installment plan is a product that allows customers to defer installment payments equivalent to the residual value of the vehicle after ensuring the used car price in advance and repay the deferred amount upon returning the vehicle at maturity.
By ensuring up to 50% of the NEXO's price as a used car price in advance, the installment payment amount corresponding to this is deferred, and only the principal and interest on the remaining amount need to be paid, minimizing the initial expense of purchasing a vehicle and the burden of monthly payments. The deferred amount can be repaid in a lump sum upon returning the vehicle after 36 months, which is the maturity period.
The selling price of the NEXO (after tax benefits) is 76.44 million won based on the exclusive price. Major domestic regions such as Daegu, Daejeon, and Incheon have set the subsidies for the NEXO's hydrogen vehicle at about 32.5 million won. The amount of subsidies varies by local government.
With the subsidy of 32.5 million won, customers can use the NEXO for a minimum down payment rate (1.3%) of 7,200 won per day (220,000 won per month). (※An installment interest rate of 4.3% applies if the total down payment is paid via Hyundai Card for 36 months)
The deferred payment installment plan for the NEXO is available only to individuals and individual businesses planning to repurchase Hyundai's electric vehicle (EV) or hydrogen fuel cell vehicle after returning the vehicle.
NEXO customers can receive up to 2.4 million won in hydrogen charging expenses for two years through the "hydrogen charging cost support benefit." Hyundai Motor provides a preloaded card designed exclusively for the NEXO, which can be charged with 1.95 million won for NEXO buyers. Additionally, customers using Hyundai's dedicated cards can receive an additional 450,000 won in benefits. (※Applicable for payments over 10 million won and use of the Save service)
Hyundai Motor has been continuously working to reduce customers' burdens associated with purchasing hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Since starting sales of the new NEXO in June, it has also been operating the "NEXO Every Care Program" that integrates the process from purchase to ownership and used car sales.
Through this, customers can utilize the "hydrogen charging cost support benefit" that allows up to a 20,000 won monthly discount on hydrogen charging costs made with the Hyundai EV card when purchasing the NEXO (based on last month's card usage of over 800,000 won for 20,000 won, and over 500,000 won for 10,000 won) and can benefit from the "trade-in" program providing discounts to customers purchasing the new NEXO after selling their existing vehicles through certified used cars from Hyundai.
