The Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee announced on the 4th that it has successfully completed the first half of the 2025 education for the children's environmental education program "Green Plus Kids," which operates for elementary school students.
"Green Plus Kids," launched in 2021, is an experiential environmental education program designed for children to understand the seriousness of climate change in a way that is appropriate for their age and to learn methods of practicing carbon neutrality in their daily lives. This program has been recognized for the professionalism of its educational content and was designated as an "excellent environmental education program" by the Ministry of Environment in 2023.
This year, "Green Plus Kids" expanded its face-to-face education to include elementary schools in the Daegu and Gwangju regions, in addition to the existing metropolitan area, enhancing educational accessibility so that more students in various regions can participate in the Green Plus Kids program conducted by specialized environmental education instructors.
The detailed educational content of "Green Plus Kids" consists of two main themes: "carbon neutrality" and "climate action," and it helps children understand the necessity of environmental protection and encourages them to take direct action through various experiential activities such as creating carbon-neutral village maps, writing environmental diaries, planting seed kits, and making plogging bags.
Commissioner Lee Eun-jeong of the Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee noted, "The biggest feature of 'Green Plus Kids' is that we organized it so that children who will lead future generations can naturally learn the importance of environmental protection while having fun like playing," and added, "We will continue to support more children to develop environmental sensitivity and actively engage in environmental protection activities."
