GS Caltex announced on the 4th that it received two grand prizes at the '2025 Red Dot Design Award,' making it the first refinery to do so, in recognition of its efforts to enhance convenience for fuel customers through the Energy Plus app.
The Red Dot Design Award is considered one of the world's top three design awards, alongside the American IDEA Award and the German iF Design Award. It selects winners annually in three categories: product design, brand and communication design, and design concepts.
The Energy Plus app won awards in two categories within the brand and communication design institutional sector: 'Apps' and 'Interface & User Experience Design.'
A company official noted, "We have objectively proven the design competitiveness of the Energy Plus app. We expect it will serve as an opportunity to enhance brand trust among the public."
GS Caltex launched the Energy Plus app in 2021 to increase convenience for fuel customers. The main feature, the immediate fuel service, allows customers to pre-register their fuel types, amounts, and payment methods in the app, enabling discounts, accumulation, and payment to be processed all at once through barcode scanning or PIN entry at the gas station.
