Volvo Car Korea officially launched the new mid-size sport utility vehicle (SUV) XC60 on the 4th. It is characterized by advanced technologies, including a new front grille design and air suspension that adjusts the vehicle's height.
The XC60 is Volvo's best-selling model, having accumulated sales of 2.7 million units since its global debut in 2008. In Korea, it has garnered attention for its image as a safe family car.
The new XC60 is available in two versions: a plug-in hybrid (T8, PHEV) and a gasoline-based mild hybrid (B5, MHEV). It is categorized into Plus and Ultra trims based on differences in wheel size, sound system, and other convenience features.
The vehicle features a modern and simple design that Volvo aims for. The interior creates a clean atmosphere with new premium materials. Additionally, various advanced technologies have been applied for driving performance, passenger safety, and convenience.
The most noticeable exterior change is the front grille. A diagonal mesh pattern has been applied instead of the existing vertical design. In particular, the B5 Ultra trim allows choosing between Bright or Dark themes, which change the color of the car's edges, such as the grille border.
The interior feels bright and comfortable. The dashboard combines pure white wood material, and the seat colors made of Nappa leather can be chosen from Blond or Charcoal, instead of the orange-tinted Amber that symbolized Volvo.
The central part of the dashboard is equipped with a vertical 11.2-inch monitor. Various infotainment systems can be used, including Tmap Auto, Naver's Whale browser for cars, as well as Wave, Tving, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube Music.
The air suspension, which enhances driving performance and comfortable ride quality, is standard starting from the B5 Ultra trim. The air suspension lowers the vehicle's height during high-speed driving to improve energy efficiency and stability, while automatically raising the ground clearance to enhance ride comfort on rough terrain.
The domestic sales prices for the new XC60 are as follows: ▲B5 AWD Plus 65.7 million won ▲B5 AWD Ultra 73.3 million won ▲T8 AWD Ultra 91.2 million won. Pre-orders are currently underway, and official vehicle deliveries are expected to commence sequentially from August.
