The Renault Group appointed François Provost, the current chief purchasing, partnership, and external affairs officer of the Renault Group, as the new chairman and CEO after a rigorous selection process targeting a variety of candidates internally and externally.
The new chairman Provost is regarded as having a deep understanding and rich insight into the automotive industry value chain, including products, customer issues, and industry challenges.
The new chairman Provost has also successfully established key partnerships worldwide while serving as the chief purchasing, partnership, and external affairs officer of the Renault Group, and he is expected to promote the group's sustainable growth and uphold the company's core values through partnerships in the global market.
Since joining Renault Group, Provost has built his career over 23 years, holding various positions such as branch manager and regional director in France, and an executive at Renault-Nissan Portugal. He has successfully led various business areas in major markets in France and overseas. Notably, he served as the CEO of Renault Samsung Motors for about five years from 2011, contributing to the expansion of exports and increases in performance.
François Provost will begin his duties as chairman of the group on July 31 and will also join the Renault Group board as a member.
