Volvo Car Korea (CEO Lee Yoon-mo) will begin pre-orders for the new XC60, a premium mid-size SUV enhanced for a modern and practical lifestyle, at official Volvo car showrooms starting July 31. Vehicle deliveries will proceed sequentially in August.
The XC60, which debuted in the global market in 2008, has become a global best-selling SUV that combines Volvo's safety heritage, Scandinavian design, and the practicality of an SUV into one dynamic package. Based on safety, quality, and premium driving experience, it has been evaluated as a benchmark for family cars, having recorded cumulative sales of 2.7 million units, making it the best-selling model in the brand's history.
The new XC60 has been reborn as the most perfect form of family SUV by upgrading all the values customers desire, with a timeless, elegant, and confident design, featuring a next-generation user experience Volvo Car UX defined by software, the use of new premium materials, and an even quieter and more comfortable interior.
In particular, for those who value both comfort and performance, an active chassis with air suspension is included as standard from the B5 (MHEV) Ultra trim. This advanced technology monitors the vehicle, road, and driver 500 times per second to optimize comfort and handling according to current road and driving conditions. During high-speed driving, the vehicle height is lowered to improve energy efficiency and stability, while ground clearance is increased to enhance ride comfort on rough roads. The vehicle height can also be adjusted with the push of a button when carrying heavy loads.
Additionally, to extend the premium driving experience, the new 11.2-inch standalone high-resolution center display introduced through the XC90 and Volvo's next-generation user experience, Volvo Car UX, will come as standard. Based on Qualcomm's next-generation Snapdragon® Cockpit Platform, it boasts more than double the responsiveness compared to the previous version, and uses capacitive touch technology to allow activation or control of functions with minimal screen contact. Moreover, it features an anti-reflective coating made using Light Control Film (LCF) to minimize reflections and glare.
With the high-definition display and the newly installed Naver Whale browser for vehicles, a variety of entertainment options, including OTT, social media, and music streaming services, can be enjoyed.
The powertrains will be available in two variants: a plug-in hybrid (T8, PHEV) that can drive up to 61 km in pure electric mode on a single charge, and a mild hybrid (B5, MHEV) designed for rich output, high efficiency, outstanding driving performance, and all-weather stability.
The sales trims will be launched as Plus and Ultra, depending on differences in comfort features such as wheel size, Bowers & Wilkins High Fidelity sound system, electric side support for front seats with massage, and ventilation seats. For the B5 Ultra trim, customers can choose from the Bright and Dark exterior themes, while the T8 Ultra trim will consist of a single Bright theme.
Additionally, industry-leading warranties are provided as standard: a 5-year or 100,000 km general parts warranty and exchange service, an 8-year / 160,000 km high-voltage battery warranty, 15 years of free wireless updates (OTA), and a 5-year digital service package subscription.
Lee Yoon-mo, CEO of Volvo Car Korea, noted, "We have worked hard to maximize the premium experience offered by the XC60, which is the family car most customers seek. In particular, I hope customers will experience a flagship level of ride comfort that surpasses similar models, industry-leading digital experiences, and world-class safety."
The domestic sales prices for the new XC60 have been set at 65.7 million won for the B5 AWD Plus, 73.3 million won for the B5 AWD Ultra, and 91.2 million won for the T8 AWD Ultra.
