On the 28th, Daedong Robotics, an AI robot specialized company of the Daedong Group, announced the launch of an autonomous transport robot that has received government certification.
This autonomous transport robot is the first model in the country to obtain certification as an 'autonomous agricultural power transporter' from the Korea Agriculture Technology Promotion Agency (KOAT). Daedong Robotics enhanced the robot, which showcased its wired (wire-following) transport model in February, by equipping it with a 3D camera, obstacle recognition lidar, and dual RTK antennas, allowing it to detect its surrounding environment and navigate autonomously with precision. Additionally, it has increased work convenience by enabling movement and load manipulations (lift, dump) via a wireless remote control and applied a three-sided open deck to improve the efficiency of loading and unloading.
The robot can be easily controlled remotely through a dedicated app called 'Daedong Robot Service,' allowing real-time location checks as well as changes to the departure point, speed adjustments, and settings for routes and stops. The autonomous driving function can be configured and operated by either the app or a dedicated control switch on the main body. Furthermore, through a shared control feature, a single robot can be registered and used by multiple users.
Through the app, up to 10 autonomous driving routes can be registered, and up to 11 stops can be designated to set autonomous transportation according to work conditions. Even during autonomous driving, functions such as changing the destination, moving stops, and returning are possible, allowing the operator to only handle the loading and unloading of goods at designated points. This significantly reduces the labor intensity and repetitive tasks in agricultural work.
This product can be purchased through over 150 Daedong dealerships nationwide, and a rental service is also being piloted. Daedong Robotics expects that the autonomous transport robot will expand its application beyond agriculture to various industries, establishing itself as a smart logistics solution.
Yeo Jun-gu, CEO of Daedong Robotics, said, "The autonomous transport robot is the starting point for the full-scale introduction of AI robot technology into domestic agricultural sites and is currently pursuing overseas expansion after successfully conducting proof of concept (PoC) in farms abroad," adding, "We will expand our business area based on AI robots not only in agriculture but also into various industrial sectors."
