The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will expand the artificial intelligence (AI) content support project, which was previously in the production stage, to all stages including planning, distribution, and promotion.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism noted on the 25th that it will carry out the 'K-Content AI Innovation Leading Project' in collaboration with the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA). The new project will utilize 21 billion won secured from the supplementary budget for 2025.
Since March, the ministry has been promoting the 'AI Content Production Support Project' using 24.5 billion won from the 2025 main budget and the first supplementary budget. Currently, a total of 71 projects have been selected to support content production for small and newly established corporations.
Though budget was invested in production support, this project will support the entire process of AI content production as well. The ministry plans to discover projects that create new business models, considering overseas market expansion potential and industrial ripple effects from the initial planning stage.
This time, instead of individual corporations' standalone projects as before, the support will target corporate alliances (consortia) to foster coexistence and mutual growth in the AI sector.
A ministry official said, 'Now is the time to take the AI transition as a new opportunity for K-Content and prepare for the next leap,' adding, 'We will actively support large, medium-sized, small, and newly established corporations to present commercialization models aimed at the global stage.'
