HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering, the intermediate holding company of HD Hyundai, announced on the 24th that it has recently signed a contract to build two container vessels with a shipping company based in Oceania.
The ordered vessels are expected to be built by HD Hyundai Mipo and delivered sequentially by the second half of 2027. The total contract amount is 156.4 billion won.
HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering explained that with this order, it has received orders for 82 vessels totaling $11.22 billion (approximately 15.35 trillion won) this year, achieving 62.2% of its annual goal.
By vessel type, there are five liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, six LNG bunker vessels, eight liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and ammonia carriers, two ethane carriers, 50 container carriers, and 11 tankers.
