The International Greenhouse Gas Reduction Industry Association announced on the 23rd that it is recruiting corporations to present international reduction projects at the "International Greenhouse Gas Reduction Business Investment Forum."
The International Greenhouse Gas Reduction Industry Association, in collaboration with the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Korean Standards Association, will hold the forum on September 18. Corporations that perform greenhouse gas reduction projects overseas and engage in overseas carbon emission trading under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, or corporations participating in government greenhouse gas international reduction support programs, can present. Applications for presentations can be made on the International Greenhouse Gas Reduction Industry Association's website or at the secretariat from the 24th of this month until August 20.
The forum is expected to be attended by about 100 experts, including developers of overseas carbon trading businesses, consulting firms, investment companies, buyers, and related agencies. Kim Young-sang, head of the greenhouse gas international reduction team at the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, will discuss the support system and current status of international greenhouse gas reduction projects, while Lee Jae-seol, Deputy Minister of the Korea Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning (KETEP), will present trends in carbon-neutral technology development. This will provide an overview of domestic and international greenhouse gas reduction industrial policies and issues.
Son Young-ki, permanent vice president of the International Greenhouse Gas Reduction Industry Association, noted, "By allowing corporations pushing international reduction projects to directly introduce their business models and projects at the forum, opportunities for collaboration with investors will be created," and added, "We hope for active participation from corporations promoting international greenhouse gas reduction."
