Hyundai Motor Group will provide official protocol vehicles for the 'Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Energy Ministers' Meeting' and the 'Clean Energy and Mission Innovation Ministers' Meeting' to be held in Busan in August.
Hyundai Motor Group signed an agreement on the 22nd with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy to provide a total of 63 eco-friendly vehicles with zero carbon emissions. The selected protocol vehicles include ▲The All-New Nexo (34 vehicles) ▲G80 electrified model (12 vehicles) ▲EV9 (14 vehicles) ▲Universe hydrogen electric bus (3 vehicles).
The APEC Energy Ministers' Meeting, scheduled for August 27-28, will bring together representatives from 21 member countries to discuss strengthening power grid infrastructure and energy security, stable power supply, and energy innovation utilizing artificial intelligence (AI). The Clean Energy and Mission Innovation Ministers' Meeting, to be held from August 25-27, will involve 31 member countries addressing key agendas such as power transitions, future fuels like hydrogen, energy and AI, and carbon reduction technologies.
More than 40 energy ministers and government delegations from various countries, along with key figures from international organizations, are expected to attend these meetings.
In particular, the All-New Nexo is a next-generation hydrogen fuel cell vehicle that symbolizes Hyundai Motor's hydrogen energy vision and eco-friendly mobility innovation. This will be the first time a hydrogen electric vehicle is used as a protocol vehicle for important figures at a major international event, specifically during the Energy Ministers' Meeting. Hyundai Motor Group plans to raise global interest in hydrogen vehicles at this opportunity.
Kim Dong-wook, Vice President of Hyundai Motor Group, noted, "I expect that by showcasing Hyundai Motor Group's eco-friendly vehicles at the international meeting discussing the direction of future energy, we can share our commitment and vision for a sustainable future with the world."
