Hyundai Motor Group has donated 2 billion won for the recovery from the damage caused by heavy rains and has begun emergency recovery support activities.
Hyundai Motor Group stated that it has donated 2 billion won to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association on the 21st to ensure that recovery in areas affected by heavy rains, such as Sancheong, South Gyeongsang Province, and Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province, along with support for the residents, can be carried out swiftly. In addition to the donation, Hyundai Motor Group is deploying six laundry and quarantine relief vehicles to help with the processing of contaminated laundry and rapid quarantine responses in affected areas.
Additionally, various services will be provided to customers who own vehicles affected by the heavy rains. The plan is to reduce customer expenses by offering up to a 50% discount on repair costs for vehicles affected by the rains, and after repairs are completed, a free car wash service will also be provided. (※ For customers without auto insurance, a damage verification certificate is required; the total discount amount supported by Hyundai is a maximum of 3 million won for passenger vehicles and 5 million won for commercial vehicles; Kia supports up to a maximum of 3 million won for passenger and commercial vehicles.)
A representative of Hyundai Motor Group noted, "We express our heartfelt condolences to all those who suffered great damage, including losing their homes due to the sudden heavy rains," and added, "We hope that the donation, deployment of relief vehicles, and repair cost discounts can aid in some way in recovery back to normal life."
Hyundai Motor Group has worked to fulfill its corporate social responsibility by donating 2 billion won for damage support in the Gyeongsang region and Ulsan in 2025, as well as contributing donations for recovery support in cases of disasters and calamities, including the heavy rains in 2023, the Gangneung wildfires in 2023, the heavy rains in 2022, and the wildfires in Uljin and Samcheok in 2022, while actively engaging in social contribution activities.
