GS Group announced that it held the '3rd GS GenAI Connect Day' at GS Tower in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam, Seoul on the 1st.
At this event, experts from home and abroad gathered to share the latest trends in AI agent technology and discuss future development directions under the theme of 'The present and future of AI agents.'
An AI agent refers to an artificial intelligence system that automatically performs specific tasks without human intervention. Recently, corporations have been actively adopting these systems for work efficiency and business innovation. As a result, interest in AI agents has been increasing.
At the event, Kim Jin-ah, executive director, and Huh Young-soo, project leader, who developed 'MISO', GS Group's unique AX (AI Transformation) platform, served as presenters.
Claire Beck (head of the Copilot project) from Microsoft headquarters, Craig Doden from the American AI startup Articul8, Edward Gong, and Lee Kyung-rok from Braincrew also participated as speakers.
The GS GenAI Connect Day has been held twice last year, and this time it expanded to include not only employees of group affiliates but also participants from external corporations and academia.
Among the approximately 150 attendees, 110, or 70%, were external participants, and the number of those wishing to attend was double the actual number, showing high interest.
This event focused on practical applications of AI technology and executable know-how, moving away from past conceptual discussions. It also placed emphasis on strengthening networking among AI practitioners and expanding collaboration opportunities.
GS Group is promoting its AX strategy for company-wide digital transformation and the internalization of AI technology. Recently, it launched the AX platform 'MISO' and regularized group hackathons, laying the foundation for practical changes.
Huh Tae-soo, chairman of GS Group, was appointed as the first chairperson of the 'AI Innovation Committee' launched by The Federation of Korean Industries in March. He emphasized, 'AI technology is a core driving force to enhance the competitiveness of Korean corporations, and innovation integrating AI across the industry is urgent.'
A GS Group official said, 'AI technology is no longer an option but a survival strategy,' and noted, 'We will continue to expand cooperation and technology exchange opportunities between corporations and contribute to the development of the AI ecosystem.'
