Audi Korea (CEO Steve Clotty) held the domestic launch event for the premium mid-size sedan 'The New Audi A5' at the Conrad Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul, on the 1st and began sales.
'The New Audi A5' is based on the newly developed dedicated platform 'PPC (Premium Platform Combustion)' for Audi's internal combustion engine and plug-in hybrid models. For the diesel model, Audi's first high-efficiency mild hybrid plus (MHEV Plus) technology has been employed.
'The New Audi A5' embodies Audi's forward-looking technological philosophy by integrating the latest digital technology, intuitive interface, dynamic driving performance, and emotional design.
All trims of 'The New Audi A5' come standard with Audi's all-wheel drive system Quattro and a 7-speed automatic S tronic transmission, providing excellent driving stability and dynamic driving performance. The 'The New Audi A5 40 TFSI Quattro' delivers a maximum output of 204 horsepower and maximum torque of 34.67 kg.m, while the 'The New Audi A5 45 TFSI Quattro' produces 271.9 horsepower and a maximum torque of 40.79 kg.m. The 'The New Audi A5 40 TDI Quattro' offers a maximum output of 204 horsepower and a maximum torque of 40.789 kg.m, and the 'The New Audi S5 TFSI' generates a maximum output of 367 horsepower and maximum torque of 56.08 kg.m.
Notably, the 'The New Audi A5 40 TDI Quattro' advanced and S-line trims apply the mild hybrid plus (MHEV Plus) system for the first time in a diesel model, achieving both efficient driving and reduced vibration unique to diesel models, while providing improved fuel efficiency and a comfortable driving experience.
'The New Audi A5' has increased its length by 65 mm, width by 15 mm, and height by 25 mm compared to the previous generation model, showcasing spaciousness and a commanding presence that surpasses the segment and rivals in the same class. The larger body, along with the newly designed Audi 2D logo, a coupe-style sleek roofline, and a tailgate with a design that allows the rear window to open, completes a dynamic silhouette while enhancing trunk usability, presenting Audi's new sedan design concept.
All trims provide premium exterior features, including Audi's first switchable panoramic roof with adjustable transparency, high beam assist, welcome ceremony, side mirror projection lights, full body paint, and body-colored side mirrors.
The advanced trims of 'The New Audi A5 40 TDI Quattro' and 'The New Audi A5 40 TFSI Quattro' include tail lights with LED headlights and dynamic turn signals, while S-line trims feature LED tail lights equipped with matrix LEDs and front and rear dynamic turn signals. The Black Edition and 'The New Audi S5 TFSI' come with matrix LEDs and digital OLED tail lights, offering a wide field of view and clear visibility. Additionally, a choice of up to eight light signatures enables lighting arrangements suited to driving conditions and the driver's preferences.
The interior features environmentally friendly premium materials and an ergonomically designed 'Soft Wrap' design that creates a luxurious and sophisticated atmosphere. All trims come with top-notch standard specifications, including sports seats, front seat ventilation seats, front seat double-glazed windows, heated seats for all, stitch extension package, power steering column, multi-color ambient lighting, storage package, and trunk partition net. Starting from the S-line, the 'Dynamic Interaction Light (multi-color)' feature is added to enable immersive indoor lighting, while the S-line Black Edition enhances the sporty feel with sports seats and stainless steel pedals embossed with the S logo, a glowing S logo aluminum door sill trim, and black aluminum points in the Vanadium package.
Moreover, the 'The New Audi S5 TFSI' includes napa leather sports seats plus with diamond pattern, red-colored seats, the Dinamica package, an S interior package, and Vanadium package, as well as carbon micro twill inlay, emphasizing its unique presence as a premium sports sedan.
The infotainment system, based on the 'Digital Stage' concept, includes an 11.9-inch virtual cockpit plus and a 14.5-inch MMI touch center display, depending on the trim, while the S-line and S-line Black Edition feature a 10.9-inch passenger display, combining to create a 'Digital Stage' panoramic display concept that provides an intuitive and immersive digital experience for both drivers and passengers. Furthermore, the AI-based Audi assistant and various apps (YouTube, Spotify, Naver Maps, etc.) can be downloaded from the Audi application store, offering a true digital mobility experience.
The newly launched 'The New Audi A5' consists of seven trims: the new Audi A5 40 TFSI Quattro Advanced, the new Audi A5 40 TFSI Quattro S-line, the new Audi A5 40 TFSI Quattro S-line Black Edition, the new Audi A5 45 TFSI Quattro S-line, the new Audi A5 40 TDI Quattro Advanced, the new Audi A5 40 TDI Quattro S-line, and the new Audi S5 TFSI.
In addition to the standard specifications for each trim, three option packages are available to suit customers' lifestyles and tastes. The advanced trim allows the selection of a 'Tech Package' that includes a head-up display and a Bang & Olufsen (B&O) 3D premium sound system, which is standard on the S-line trim. Furthermore, a brown seat package including nutmeg brown seats and a black headliner, and various other packages such as a front seat headrest speaker package available on the S-line trim broaden customer choices and enable vehicle configurations tailored to individual lifestyles and preferences.
The price of 'The New Audi A5' starts at 57.89 million won for the 'The New Audi A5 40 TFSI Quattro', 68.69 million won for the 'The New Audi A5 45 TFSI Quattro', 61.82 million won for the 'The New Audi A5 40 TDI Quattro', and 83.42 million won for the 'The New Audi S5 TFSI'.
