Hyundai Transys announced on the 1st that it won three awards at the '2025 Red Dot Design Award' competition. The Red Dot Design Award is considered one of the top three design competitions globally, alongside Germany's iF Design Award and the U.S. IDEA Design Award.
The works that Hyundai Transys received awards for include ▲ modular seat (institutional sector for commercial vehicles) ▲ Urban Air Mobility (UAM) cabin concept (institutional sector for trains, airplanes, and ships) ▲ reclining chair design (institutional sector for commercial furniture).
The modular seat is designed to allow the attachment and detachment of seat components according to usage, considering the characteristics of Purpose-Built Vehicles (PBV). The competition highly evaluated this seat for maximizing convenience and space efficiency.
The UAM cabin concept applied a lightweight design that enhances the use of limited indoor space and reduces the weight of the aircraft. The reclining chair design is characterized by an ergonomic structure that automatically adjusts the position by analyzing the pressure exerted by the passenger when seated.
Earlier, Hyundai Transys also won an award for two consecutive years in the professional concept sector of the 'iF Design Award' competition in March with the UAM cabin concept.
Go Myung-hee, executive director of the seat research and development center at Hyundai Transys, said, 'We will provide a new experience and value of indoor space in future mobility with Hyundai Transys's design and technology.'
