Audi Korea (CEO Steve Klotz) held a launch event for the premium mid-size SUV 'The New Audi Q5' on the 1st at the Conrad Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul, and began sales.
'The New Audi Q5' was developed based on the premium platform combustion (PPC) that Audi newly developed for internal combustion and plug-in hybrid models. The diesel model includes high-efficiency mild hybrid plus (MHEV Plus) technology, a first for Audi diesel vehicles.
The third-generation 'Audi Q5' features a robust yet refined exterior, precise driving performance, an intuitive interface, and advanced digital technology, making it a versatile vehicle that satisfies both practicality and emotion, while also signaling the generational change in the Audi SUV lineup.
All trims of the 'The New Audi Q5 40 TDI quattro' are equipped with Audi's electronic four-wheel drive system 'Ultra quattro' and a 7-speed automatic S tronic transmission, providing excellent driving stability and agile responsiveness. It delivers a maximum output of 204 horsepower and a maximum torque of 40.789 kg.m, achieving both strong performance and high efficiency with a combined fuel economy of 12.7 km/l (city: 12.3 km/l, highway: 13.1 km/l).
In particular, the high-efficiency mild hybrid plus (MHEV Plus) system adds up to 18 kW (European standard) output, enabling smooth and quiet driving without engine intervention, reducing the unique vibrations of diesel models and providing comfortable ride quality.
'The New Audi Q5' benefits from the PPC platform, increasing its length by 35 mm and width by 5 mm compared to the previous model, showcasing a more comfortable and spacious interior as well as a commanding presence. The elongated hood, newly designed Audi 2D logo, and smooth roofline harmonize to showcase both the inherent robustness of an SUV and Audi's unique refined sophistication.
All trims come standard with features such as a panoramic sunroof, high beam assist, headlight washers, side mirror projection lights, welcome ceremony, roof rails, and full body paint, enhancing both visual beauty and elegance.
The 'The New Audi Q5 40 TDI quattro' advanced trim features 19-inch 5-twin spoke graphite gray wheels, while the S line and black edition trims are outfitted with 20-inch Audi Sport 5-twin spoke twist wheels in silk matte gray, adding a sporty feel.
The lighting system has also been meticulously designed. The S line and black edition trims feature the first-ever integrated spoiler projection light function from Audi, while the advanced and S line trims come with LED headlights and taillights that include rear dynamic turn signals, and the black edition is equipped with matrix LED headlights and front and rear dynamic turn signals, as well as digital OLED taillights, ensuring excellent visibility and driving safety. Additionally, up to eight different light signature settings allow for lighting configurations that match the driver's preferences.
'The New Audi Q5' is equipped with various driver assistance systems and convenience features to provide a smarter driving experience. All trims include a parking assist system and various driver assistance devices as standard, while trims above the S line add a head-up display and a 360° surround view camera to enhance driving convenience and safety.
In particular, the black edition applies adaptive air suspension, the first in its class, providing optimized ride comfort and driving performance according to road conditions. It also allows for ride height adjustment through four modes, enabling stable driving across various road conditions. The infotainment system features a 11.9-inch virtual cockpit plus and a 14.5-inch MMI touch display starting from the advanced trim, and the S line and black edition include a 10.9-inch passenger display for an intuitive and immersive digital environment. Additionally, it comes with the AI-based Audi assistant and an 'Audi application store' that allows downloading various applications like YouTube, Spotify, and Naver Maps, providing customers with a true digital mobility experience.
The newly launched 'The New Audi Q5' is available in three trims: 'The New Audi Q5 40 TDI quattro advanced,' 'The New Audi Q5 40 TDI quattro S line,' and 'The New Audi Q5 40 TDI quattro S line black edition.'
In addition to the standard specifications for each trim, customers can choose from four optional packages to create various configurations that match their lifestyles. Options available for selection from the advanced trim include the 'Tech Package' (head-up display, B&O premium sound, USB fast charging, etc.), and 'Brown Seat Package,' while the S line offers options such as the 'Black Package' and the 'Light Package,' allowing for tailored configurations based on customer preferences and usage.
The price of 'The New Audi Q5 40 TDI quattro' starts at 69.68 million won (including VAT, based on a special consumption tax of 3.5%).
