The Hyundai Motor World Rally Team won the 7th round of the 2025 World Rally Championship (WRC) held in Lamia, Greece, from June 26 to 29.
Ott Tänak from the Hyundai Shell Mobiis World Rally Team (the Hyundai Shell Mobiis World Rally Team, hereafter referred to as the World Rally Team) crossed the finish line in 1st place.
The official name of the Greece rally is the 'WRC EKO Acropolis Rally Greece,' considered one of the most challenging regions in the WRC rally course due to its rough and rugged gravel roads, narrow mountain courses, and dry and high-temperature weather.
The Hyundai World Rally Team had three drivers participating in this competition with the 'i20 N Rally1' racing car: Thierry Neuville, Ott Tänak, and Adrien Fourmaux.
Based on their experience of winning the Greece rally last year, the Hyundai Motor World Rally Team achieved victory for the second consecutive year by optimizing the condition of the 'i20 N Rally1' racing car for the climate and unpaved roads of the Acropolis rally.
Ott Tänak showcased excellent adaptability to road changes through careful vehicle setup and tire management, moving into the lead from the 6th stage and continuously widening the gap with the 2nd place to clinch the podium.
The Hyundai World Rally Team earned a total of 50 points through the achievements of its drivers, maintaining 2nd place in the institutional sector ranking, signaling positive prospects for the remaining season.
A Hyundai Motor official noted, "It is traditionally regarded as one of the most challenging and demanding rallies, and we are very pleased to win once again in the extreme conditions of the Greece rally," adding, "We will do our best to showcase good performances in the second half of the season for N brand and motorsport fans."
The WRC is a world-class motorsport event organized by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), determining the champion in the manufacturer and driver sectors based on annual competition results held in various environments ranging from paved to unpaved roads and snowy conditions.
The 2025 WRC consists of a total of 14 rounds, with the 8th round scheduled to take place in Estonia from July 17 to 20.
