HD Hyundai's robotics subsidiary, HD Hyundai Robotics, announced on the 25th that it will participate in 'Automatica 2025,' the world's largest robotics industry exhibition, held in Munich, Germany, for four days starting on the 24th (local time).

The Automatica in Germany is considered one of the top three robotics exhibitions in the world, alongside Japan's iREX and China's CIIF. This year's event is expected to feature over 800 corporations, with more than 50,000 visitors anticipated.

HD Hyundai Robotics unveiled hybrid collaborative robots, artificial intelligence (AI)-based welding solutions, and CAD-based 3D vision solutions at this exhibition. The hybrid collaborative robot 'HDC series' has a maximum payload of 50 kg and features a top speed of 6 m/s, which is six times faster than existing collaborative robots.

Utilizing radar sensors, the robot can detect its surroundings and perform high-speed operations when no one is present; it automatically reduces speed when a person approaches. The AI-based welding solution analyzes the shape of the molten pool in real-time, adjusting current, voltage, speed, and posture autonomously.

The 3D vision solution scans the work target, inputs it into the CAD, predefines the welding line, and determines the optimal movement path and posture for welding. By correcting positional values in real-time, it enhances accuracy and reduces defect rates.

At the exhibition booth, HD Hyundai allows visitors to experience the teaching functions where they can directly input motions into the HDC series collaborative robot controller and the robot. Lectures on HD Hyundai Robotics' hybrid collaborative robots and AI-based welding technology will also be conducted.

An official from HD Hyundai Robotics noted, "We participated in this exhibition to showcase our technological competitiveness in the European market, where the standards for automation solutions are very stringent," adding, "We plan to aggressively target the European market through technological advancement and strengthening local sales networks."
