The leading corporation in immersive entertainment experiences, Dolby Laboratories (hereafter referred to as Dolby), announced a strategic partnership with the German premium automobile brand Audi to support the next-generation immersive audio technology, Dolby Atmos®, in some Audi vehicle models.
The first Audi vehicle to be equipped with Dolby Atmos will be released in Germany in July 2025. It will subsequently be released in major countries around the world.
This strategic partnership is a reflection of both companies' commitment to elevating the driving experience to a new level by providing high-quality immersive sound.
Dolby Atmos is an audio technology that supports artists in fully realizing their creative vision, providing listeners with an immersive experience as if they are inside the music. Dolby Atmos goes beyond existing listening experiences, vividly rendering every detail of the music with overwhelming clarity and depth, thereby enhancing the connection between artists and fans.
From July 2025, Dolby Atmos will be equipped in the Audi Q7, Audi Q8, Audi A8, and Audi e-tron GT models.
The Bang & Olufsen premium 3D sound system equipped in these models is custom-designed to maximize the Dolby Atmos sound experience. In the German release models, drivers and passengers can easily enjoy Dolby Atmos audio through Audi's multimedia interface (MMI), the in-vehicle infotainment system, via integrated apps like the Audi application store, Amazon Music, Audible, and Tidal.
