Han Seong-suk, the Minister candidate for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, mentioned regarding the selected key initiative of 'digital transformation' after her inauguration, "It can vary greatly depending on the form and type of corporations, so I will start by understanding the field."
On the morning of the 25th, candidate Han met with reporters in front of the office of the personnel hearing preparation team in Yeouido, Seoul, and stated, "Digital transformation is an urgent task that no one can deny."
She added, "The scope of digital technology has evolved from PCs in the past to mobile, and now it includes artificial intelligence (AI) technology, and it can vary greatly by industry," and said, "I will start by listening to opinions from various areas."
In response to a question about whether it is similar to 'Project Kkot,' which she led during her tenure as CEO of Naver, she explained, "The overarching premise may be similar, but there are aspects that are possible because it is Naver," and noted, "Looking into the current situation, I felt once again that the forms and types of corporations are very diverse."
The 'Project Kkot' that candidate Han led at the time is a mutual growth project for small businesses. It supported the online business and financing of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that entered Naver's Smart Store.
On the previous day, she received a report on the duties of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups upon her first day at work. Candidate Han stated about her initial feelings regarding work, "I am quite busy preparing for the hearing," and added, "I am closely examining the related materials based on what is reported in the media and also assessing the organizational structure."
Regarding the online platform fair trade law that the government is recently pursuing, she replied, "First, I need to understand the changes compared to when I was in corporations," and added, "For now, I will focus on preparing for the hearing."
