Eastar Jet announced on the 19th that it has been selected as the top low-cost carrier (LCC) in the 'Skytrax World Airline Awards 2025' in the institutional sector.
Skytrax, based in London, United Kingdom, is one of the most authoritative global airline evaluation institutions. Each year, it conducts its own service evaluations of over 325 airlines worldwide and selects the best carriers.
For the first time this year, a new category by country has been established, and Eastar Jet has been designated as Korea's first top LCC.
An Eastar Jet official explained, "The increase in safety and comfort through the operation of the latest aircraft, enhanced customer convenience through information technology (IT), friendly service, and the provision of reasonable fares have resulted in maximizing customer satisfaction."
Eastar Jet currently owns 15 aircraft, of which 5 are the next-generation eco-friendly B737-8. It plans to add 5 more B737-8s by the end of this year. All incoming aircraft will be new, not used, and Eastar Jet aims to maintain the lowest average age among domestic LCCs.
Eastar Jet CEO Cho Jung-seok said, "We are continuously innovating our services across various institutional sectors to provide high satisfaction relative to price," and noted, "We are pleased to have our value recognized through this Skytrax evaluation."
