GS Global announced on the 16th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Cargo Transportation Business Association to expand the distribution of eco-friendly commercial vehicles.
The Jeju Cargo Transportation Business Association is a large transportation association in the Jeju region that operates 1,730 cargo trucks across 213 member companies and plays a crucial role in the local logistics industry. With this agreement, GS Global's BYD 1-ton electric truck T4K will be responsible for a part of the eco-friendly logistics transition in Jeju.
This agreement aligns with the '5th Comprehensive Long-term Plan for Electric Vehicles' announced by the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province on the 11th. Jeju aims to convert 40% of all operating vehicles to electric vehicles by 2035, and transitioning to eco-friendly commercial vehicles has also emerged as an important task.
Through this agreement, GS Global and the Jeju Cargo Transportation Business Association plan to expand the distribution of electric trucks in the province and provide various benefits to member companies, contributing to the establishment of eco-friendly transportation infrastructure in the Jeju region.
Prior to the signing of the agreement, GS Global invited 46 companies belonging to the cargo mutual insurance association and associations in Jeju on the 16th to introduce and test drive the BYD 1-ton electric truck 'T4K Refrigerated Truck.' Participants experienced various special features suitable for the Jeju logistics environment, including the driving performance and charging convenience of the T4K Refrigerated Truck, an all-in-one controller that can charge both the vehicle and the refrigerator simultaneously, and a maximum driving range of 205 km at room temperature.
In particular, the T4K Refrigerated Truck can be purchased for about 28 million won when applying the electric vehicle subsidies and GS Global's promotions, drawing attention as a solution that combines practicality and economic viability.
A GS Global official noted, "The T4K electric truck is a vehicle that combines practical operational efficiency and eco-friendly value, serving as a practical alternative in the Jeju transportation scene," and said, "We will continue to expand the distribution of eco-friendly commercial vehicles across the country, including Jeju."
