Hyundai Rotem will unveil its electric vehicle core component production facilities to the global market for the first time.
Hyundai Rotem noted that it will participate in the 'China International Metal Forming Exhibition 2025' held in Shanghai, China, from 17th to 20th.
The International Metal Forming Exhibition is Asia's largest exhibition showcasing the latest technology and equipment in the metal forming industry. Products spanning the entire metal forming industry, including forging, stamping, and sheet metal processing, will be displayed. This exhibition will consist of six subthemes: ▲Processing equipment ▲Molds ▲Automation systems ▲Welding and joining technology ▲Quality control ▲Industrial robots.
Hyundai Rotem will introduce its self-developed press equipment aimed at the domestic and international automotive industry, as well as the metal industry, at this exhibition. China holds the largest market share in the global electric vehicle market and produces over 80% of batteries for electric vehicles, concentrating the demand for metal forming equipment and process automation from motor and battery manufacturers.
The layered press introduced by Hyundai Rotem is a high-speed, high-precision facility for producing high-efficiency motor cores used in electric vehicles. The motor core is a key component that determines the driving range and acceleration performance of electric vehicle motors.
The layered press produces motor cores by stacking thin steel plates in multiple layers, and Hyundai Rotem boasts the capability to shape up to 300 times per minute while maintaining high precision. Additionally, actual motor cores produced by the layered press will also be exhibited, allowing a comprehensive view of the motor core manufacturing process from the production process to the final product.
A high-speed press line for battery cans will also be exhibited. The high-speed press for battery cans is a facility that produces cylindrical battery cans for electric vehicles and can shape up to 1,200 units of 4680 battery cans per minute. Hyundai Rotem provides an optimal mass production solution by linking the primary process press (capping press) and secondary process press (leading press) of the battery can high-speed press line.
Hyundai Rotem has a diverse lineup of press solutions, including servo presses, mechanical presses, and special forming presses. Through this exhibition, it plans to accelerate its business expansion in the global market.
A representative from Hyundai Rotem stated, 'This is an important opportunity to introduce Hyundai Rotem's press technology to the global market,' adding, 'We will seek new growth opportunities through active research and development.'
