Kia announced on the 16th that it will begin sales of the 2025 Bongo III EV special-purpose vehicle ('Bongo EV special-purpose vehicle').
The Bongo EV special-purpose vehicle, based on the 2025 Bongo III EV, will be launched in various models including refrigerated trucks, box trucks, wing bodies, side-opening trucks, and power gates. A special-purpose vehicle refers to a car equipped with special equipment for specific uses.
The vehicle features a reduced fast-charging time and an improved work convenience by increasing the LED brightness of the truck. Kia explained that the charging time for the battery from 10% to 80% has been reduced from the previous 47 minutes to 32 minutes, thanks to the new battery cells that enhance energy density.
Kia also increased the brightness of the LED interior lights in the truck to enhance usability in dark environments such as nighttime work or underground parking lots, and improved the quality of the vertical power gate to minimize rusting or scratching.
The prices for each model are as follows: refrigerated truck 62.92 to 63.02 million won, box truck 48.67 to 50.11 million won, wing body 50.80 to 52.30 million won, side-opening truck 50.08 to 50.74 million won, and power gate 49.06 to 49.19 million won.
A Kia official noted, 'We expect that the Bongo EV special-purpose vehicle, equipped with enhanced product competitiveness, will lead the small commercial special-purpose vehicle market.'
