Ferrari unveiled the '296 Speciale' in the 'Piloti Ferrari' specification at the Le Mans 24 Hours endurance race eve event. This unique model, the latest addition to Ferrari's Tailor-Made program, is designed to commemorate the accomplishments at the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and to pay tribute to Ferrari customer racing drivers.
The Piloti Ferrari 296 Speciale officially made its debut at the 'La Sarthe Circuit' in France to emphasize its symbolic consolidation with the Le Mans 24 Hours endurance race.
This unique specification is made exclusively for customers involved in Ferrari's official motorsport activities (both competitive and non-competitive) and is designed based on the 499P, which won the overall title at the Le Mans 24 Hours in 2023 and 2024 in the institutional sector of hypercars. The vehicle's special livery, representing the identity of the Ferrari customer racing driver community eager to experience the brand's DNA on the track, embodies their essence.
The Piloti Ferrari 296 Speciale is offered in four racing-inspired colors: Rosso Scuderia (bright and vibrant red), Blue Tour de France (metallic navy blue), Nero Daytona (metallic black), and Argento Nürburgring (metallic silver).
The exterior livery is finished in Giallo Modena (intense yellow), inspired by the 499P, and features a hand-painted WEC logo, an Italian flag on the front bumper, and a customizable number that customers can choose.
The model unveiled in Le Mans bears the number '51,' which was the car number driven by Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado, and Antonio Giovinazzi during their victory in 2023. The year 2023 marked Ferrari's official return to the top endurance racing stage and was also the 100th anniversary of the Le Mans 24 Hours.
Inside, the racing seat is finished in thermoformed black Alcantara (high-end black synthetic suede precisely shaped using high temperature and pressure), with the same fire-resistant material used for the official driver suits applied in part as finishing. The indoor carbon fiber also features the livery number, and the surface of the functional metal footwell can be customized according to customer requests. Personalization options include a vehicle registration plate made of carbon fiber and a carbon fiber door sill, which can have custom phrases engraved.
