HJ Shipbuilding & Construction announced on the 30th that it participated in the 2025 International Maritime Defense Industry Exhibition (MADEX) and showcased its main vessels.
HJ Shipbuilding & Construction set up its booth with large transport vessels such as the Marado and Dokdo ships, high-speed landing craft (LSF-II), guided-missile fast attack craft (PKG), and 3,000-ton coast guard vessels. In particular, it focused on introducing the air-cushion high-speed landing craft.
A company official noted, "We received explosive responses from overseas delegations and visitors. Consultations were conducted on specific contract terms."
The high-speed landing craft moves by lifting air into internal pockets within the vessel. To reduce weight, the hull is made of aluminum, and aerodynamic propulsion technology is also required. HJ Shipbuilding & Construction is considered the only company in the country capable of constructing high-speed landing craft.
Yoo Sang-cheol, CEO of HJ Shipbuilding & Construction, introduced, "The high-speed landing craft can reach speeds of an average of 40 knots (about 74 km/h). It is a state-of-the-art vessel capable of landing on 80% of the world's coasts, including at sea, shallow waters, and tidal flats.
