Young Poong announced on the 29th that it has deployed industrial drones at the Seokpo Refinery to prevent industrial accidents.
Since last month, the Young Poong Seokpo Refinery has been conducting drone patrols focused on high-risk work sites with the deployment of one industrial drone. The company explained that this measure is aimed at preventing industrial accidents through advance monitoring activities for high-risk tasks.
The drone has a maximum flight time of 45 minutes, can survey an area of 2 kilometers, features a 56x zoom camera, and is equipped with a high-volume speaker. It can perform real-time site monitoring and broadcast warnings. Two safety patrol personnel from the preventive safety team at the Seokpo Refinery have obtained drone pilot certifications.
Drone operators select high-risk workplaces daily using a safety work permit and then deploy the drone to those areas. The drone flies above the work site and broadcasts warnings to workers through the speaker while checking in real-time whether workers comply with safety regulations. If violations or hazards are detected, safety patrol personnel visit the site directly to provide guidance and corrective measures, the company noted.
